Schoorl

GSituated next to Schoorlse Duinen National Park, with the widest and highest dunes in the Netherlands, you can relax here until you drop. The beach is only accessible by bike, making it extra peaceful.

The village is also known for its charming town center full of terraces and restaurants. The climbing dune, right in the middle of the village, is another great bonus. Children can't stop themselves from climbing it. They slowly walk up and then run, fly, and fall back down. Falling doesn't hurt, and laughter is guaranteed.

Schoorl, Groet, and Camperduin form a ribbon along the edge of the Schoorlse Duinen National Park, a wide expanse of dunes covering 1800 hectares. The area is characterized by diverse vegetation, several dune streams, kilometers of cycling and walking paths, and three high climbing dunes. On the east side, a characteristic Dutch polder landscape is visible. Where the dunes end, the Hondsbossche Seawall begins, with the bird sanctuary 'de Putten' at its foot. The village's buildings are characterized by detached houses, many built along ditches in the early 1900s. The various villages offer shops and restaurants.

The North Sea beach at Schoorl aan Zee is only accessible by bicycle, while the beach access points at Hargen and Camperduin have parking facilities and a bus stop. Water sports enthusiasts can moor in Hargen's small harbor, close to the sea and dunes. During the summer months, the village is filled with various festivities, such as the sailing, surfing, and beach event "Hargen on Sail," as well as treasure hunts for children.
